Effervescent Creatine

This is a unique and patented (by FSI Nutrition) creatine delivery system product.  This product combines creatine monohydrate (one of the most well researched and effective sports supplements ever) along with potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, and citric acid powder.  This combination of ingredients reacts with water to create a freely soluble ionized form of creatine.  This chemical reaction separates the creatine from its monohydrate salt resulting in a form of free ionized creatine known as a Zwitter Ion. This basically results in a 100% dissolved creatine drink (compared to about a 30 % dissolving rate for regular creatine monohydrate).    This effervescent solution also has a buffering capability which may help insure that the creatine will not be broken down into its useless metabolite, creatinine.  Creatine monohydrate can help weight training athletes by supporting the reproduction of ATP (energy) in the muscle tissue and creating a phenomenon known as cell volumization  (drawing of water inside muscle cells) which can create an anabolic environment in muscle cells for growth.  Creatine supplementation has been shown to be effective in over 200 clinical studies.  The main benefit to this product is that many individuals have reported less stomach discomfort which in some cases seems to be a problem with conventional creatine formulas.  This is probably due to its complete absorption rate and solubility.  Keep in mind dozens of studies show that regular powdered creatine monohydrate is absorbed well.
