Arabinogalactan

Larch arabinogalactan (AG) is a polysaccharide powder derived from the wood of the larch tree.  It is basically a soluble fiber that has been clinically shown to boost immune function as well.  It is particularly effective at increasing beneficial intestinal microflora such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus which can help improve digestive function.  This patented compound is well tolerated and provides much more that just an excellent source of fiber.   Many athletes and exercising individuals are lacking in daily fiber intake.  This is not good considering that fiber has many benefits including lowering cholesterol, stabilizing blood sugar and insulin levels, keeping you “regular”, and other positive effects.  Since AG is virtually tasteless and mixes easily, it can be added to a meal replacement shake which is lacking in fiber content.  By the way, AG is even FDA-approved for use as a dietary fiber.  Taking 5-15 grams daily can be very effective.  AG is made by a company called Larex.
